Our young teens wanted a bank card however the risk to a bank card was access to all of their savings.  Spriggy allows us to control the amount of funds available on their card in the event it is lost or stolen … or the temptation to buy the latest character on a video game is just too great.  We keep a balance in our parent wallet allowing us to transfer funds to their cards using the electronic app within seconds.  We also get real time notifications of amounts and vendors when funds are spent.  For our family, Spriggy was the better choice over a bank card and the costs are reasonable for this service.

Not responsive. This is getting a little ridiculous. We've been waiting for cards to arrive for over a month and Spriggy don't respond to any of the messages we've been sending in the app! Kids were excited about a month ago, now they just want to go back to the Garmin Junior App to earn money for chores. Perhaps this with a standard debit card account is better for them anyway - that way we can earn interest rather than have the money sit in Spriggy's account and cost us $30 a year for each child.

The only thing negative about my review is the $30 each card annual fees. That’s $90 I have to pay for 3 cards. There should be a discounted fee amount for more than 1 card per family.

The concept is great but the reality is not. We received the card and my daughter was very excited about it. We have tried to activate the card and it is now locked and has been for more the notified 24 hours. It is frustrating that you cannot actually speak to a real live person. Every communication is through the app. It takes a long time to get a reply and then when it comes through, they don't tell you anything that you don't already know. Then we got a message saying we can now transfer money to our daughters card, except we can't because the account still is not verified. Then we get a message telling us there is an issue with verification and to contact member help.. Which we did, but they apparently can't help us.. If I had of known it was going to be this much of a run around, I would have given it a miss. Oh and even though they don't seem to want to verify they accounts, they still managed to take out the money i tried to transfer as a test payment before all this happened.. or rather, didn't happen..

Awesome Money Tool for Children

Spriggy is amazing! I was scrolling through tik tok when I came across Spriggy & tuned into the ad. A few moments later I downloaded the app, signed up, had my card delivered & now I am in the process of surprising my son for his 10th birthday with this gift of independence. I received my sons card in the mail, I got the green card & it’s absolutely beautiful. Thank you for exisiting Spriggy. I wish I had this as a child but I’m happy to relive my inner child through my own child.

Easy to use

Lovely way to teach children how to save and to appreciate the cost of things they want to purchase. Love the visa cards, so so easy to upload money and add to the kids cards. Have also shared app with others so they can make payments straight onto their cards when chores etc are done. Love Spriggy

Perfect to start for my son

The delay in making funds available from my bank account to the parent wallet is very frustrating. My first transaction took 6 days, longer than the actual delivery of the cards.

Spriggy invest has been awful and definitely not worth the risk of putting your kids savings in there. Consistent draining of funds plus fees and charges for every transaction. I have withdrawn the kids savings and will get rid of this app and put kids savings in something more promising like Vanguard.

I have been waiting for days for funds Spriggy is holding and not transferring to my parent wallet. My daughter urgently needed the funds. I’m so disappointed as I don’t understand why they don’t return the money to my account if I have exceeded the top up amount. I can say honestly that I will be not recommending to many friends who want to set up an account.

Product seems ok so far (I’m only one week in the trial) but their service is rather non-existent unfortunately, my 2 sons’ cards were ordered at the same time but one arrived 2 weeks earlier than the other. I emailed multiple times and never got a response on the whereabouts of the second card, makes me concerned what if a real problem happens - how will Spriggy solve it?

Also a few minor flaws in the product itself, for example I put some money in the parent wallet but discovered that my wife - by design - can’t access that money! So she can’t pay the kids if needed. Also if she set chores in her account I can’t see them on mine so I have to manually enter them one by one. I feel that this could improve.

I have been waiting for days for Spriggy to take off the lock for my parent wallet - I am unable to transfer money to my children during our trip to Sydney. While my husband has successfully set up his app, Spriggy customer service doesn't seem to prioritise the second parent. So frustrating and their messages are always sweet 'sorry for the inconvenience' but then nothing happens. This has essentially seriously impacted on our family holiday. Would not recommend this Company and you are unable to call them and speak with anyone.

I been waiting days for my children’s cards to be unlocked after transferring money to the parent account. I’ve gone through the steps required and they are still unusable.

I’ve seen your reply and if you call “reaching out” having a bot tell me to read a few articles in response to my queries about why my accounts are locked after providing the requested info then it only validates my claim of poor customer service. I’ve received a few emails requesting the same information to validate the accounts. I’ve now provided this information 3 different times over 5 days with no resolve.

My almost 12yr old is loving Spriggy! He is enjoying being able to buy things himself, set savings goals and see his incoming and outgoing money. It’s so easy to transfer him money and I really like that you can set jobs and also set up automatic pocket money payments. 
The only downfall is the yearly cost per child as I’d love to get the other kids cards too but can’t for $30 a year each.

It's great to be able to transfer money quickly & easily to kids cards, see where they've spent it and it has so many good  features. e.g. pocket money & savings, description box for what the money is for. The only negative (which is why I gave 4/5) was setting up an account for others to use. e.g. when I sent the link so my husband and a neighbour could set up account to transfer money from, it took  a lot of persistence & communications online with Spriggy. I would have preferred to talk to someone directly versus web chat function - such a long time to get issue resolved going back & forth. My neighbour gave up altogether and just pays my daughter cash for baby sitting instead of transferring to her Spriggy card. That was disappointing & is still annoying. I can't face sorting it same issue via web chat again.

We have only had our spriggys for a couple of month but already had fraud on the cards. For my daughter’s card someone bought clothing in Melb (we are in Sydney) and my sons card has had lots of small Macdonalds transactions. So unfortunate that ther me is fraud already and had to lock cards

The initial setup process wasn’t smooth. Reaching customer care isn’t easy and straight forward. Needs improvement. Haven’t used the card yet. Let’s see how that goes.

We love spriggy!  Easy to apply for, use and top up money between accounts.  The app is very clear and easy to use. The kids love having the freedom of being able to shop with them and I love it as I never have cash when I need to give it to them, but I can just put money on their cards instead :)

Got this for my daughter n have found it rather enjoyable for us both, not having to carry cash around helps her too n me. Teaching her how too look after card also n having access to account for us both gives peace of mind n added security in case lost or stolen.

Transfer to parent account from bank account takes far too long. The automatic payment system was complicated and too hard confusing to set up so I gave up. I just transfer money manually now. 
The main reason I’ll cancel at the end of the first 12months is because it will be better for the kids to have their own bank accounts with debit cards, that way I can transfer to them instantly.
