The Okcoin team helped me in a very professional way when some cryptofunds got stuck during a deposit transfer.  That was terrific.  Other than that, I think Okcoin has a good exposure to STX earnings.  However, Bitcoin earning is not available, which is a shortcoming, I believe.  I also think the promises made with MIA and NYC tokens have not worked.  In general, I believe there could be a lot more DeFi opportunities for earning.

Very disappointing service. I opened my account a few months ago but I decided to use it last week, and I deposited $3,770 using my bank account. I'm an US citizen and I used a bank in the US. But after they took my money, suddenly they suspended my account and they refuse to refund me. Stay away!!!!!!

This is my answer to OkCoin's reply:

A support ticket was opened for this case #20260102, but they keep saying to check the section 4.6 or 4.5, without any other explanation or without any refund info.

Update: 3 weeks passed and there is no reply or action on OkCoin's side. My money are still locked, as well as my OkCoin account

My okcoin account was fully verified…

I've read some of the complaints and we should file a class-action or find a lawyer for arbitrary action against OkCoin. I've used OkCoin about 1 year. In the past 2 months (maybe less) I've been logged out of their mobile platform with no explanation or reason given. It wouldn't be an issue for other companies, but, it seems like OkCoin logs you out, changes your password, and never gets consent from you or tells you about it. If you are logged out by the app, or an OkCoin employee trying to rob you, an error comes up wrong password when you log in. I thought I forgot my password and had to reset it at first. It took hours of verification requirements and authenticator issues. I've had lvl 2 verification with KYC my 1st day. They still required drivers license, front and back, and documents with name/address. So I think OkCoin and staff are thieves now. They probably steal/sell my info to ID crooks, credit fraudsters, or other criminals! It took 3 days until I could log in the first time this happened. I lost money from not being able to sell coins or buy others cheaply. I thought I forgot my password this time. 

The week of April 11th, 2022, there was high volatility that could earn high returns or lose all investments. I was logged out AGAIN *WITHOUT* my consent or knowledge. I took pictures of my login ID and password when I had to change it the 1st time. I typed my password to match how it was saved completely with 100% accuracy and 0 chance I would ever get it wrong again. Again ANOTHER "incorrect password" error came up. I deleted the user ID and password then tried again but it didn't work. I tried 4 times clearing the user ID and password then re-typing it all over, but it always came back as wrong password. OkCoin has a message showing how many attempts are left to log in and I had 1 left. I didn't want my account locked-out forever or delete wallet addresses from blockchains if I ran out of tries. I hit "forgot password" and AGAIN tried to change my password even though I know for a 100% fact I entered it correctly. I followed the steps, got a text code to my cellphone or email. I tried both ways at least 40 times. I would get the text or email almost always. I needed to enter a code from authenticator. This is where I start thinking that OkCoin and/or staff steal ID's and/or money from customers. The authenticator key is 6 digits at random. The numbers change very fast so they "should be" unique to my device only. I have a Galaxy Fold 3 and it can copy the code and paste it from a quick key above the keyboard with 2 taps total to the screen. It takes less than 5 seconds and has never failed anywhere else. The code I entered said it's not the correct code. I tried again and again 3-4 times, then entered it one by one many, MANY times. I waited for a new code to try but wouldn't work and I closed both apps and re-opened them. I waited on the screen right before the one that needed the authenticator code and I waited for a whole new code, STILL, NOTHING WORKS! I tried syncing date/time like customers with the same complaint were told to do. The authenticator won't sync if it and your phone are already synced correctly. How technically disabled are these staff?

I was locked out of thousands of dollars on OkCoin and I ONCE AGAIN (See a pattern here?) emailed their staff. I sent 1 email the day it started, 3 days later I sent 1 or 2 more emails that got less friendly each time, I sent another email yesterday (6th day locked out) and I wanted to cuss everyone at this company out, today I sent 1 more email stating my intent to seek filing a lawsuit (civil or class action) and/or arbitration judgement. It's been 7 days and still I have NO ACCESS TO ACCOUNT/MONEY, EVEN WORSE, I HAVE GOTTEN NO RESPONSE TO ANY OF MY EMAILS OR TICKETS FILED! My account's lossing money and I can only watch prices drop in disgust, anger, and hatred. 

I've got hundreds of thousands in fiat on different platforms and wallets. Nothing like this should happen, EVER, to anyone! I'm going take some of the profits, hire a lawyer, take everything that I legally can from OkCoin! I am praying that this leads to a class-action suit so the thousands of users who've had this happen recover some (if not all) of the money that OkCoin has stolen from us all this way!

Here's my requests for the CEO, Executive Board, and Controlling Stake Holders of OkCoin. Meet my requests, I'll stop sharing opinions of OkCoin and have no futher business between us. Refuse my requests, we will find out if a judge/jury sympathies with a hard working citizen who was robbed or a crypto exchange who promotes tax evasion not providing physical 1099's or reporting to the IRS. I hope it goes to federal level!

2. Staking cycles ended, interest up to day it ends paid 
3. Reimburse avoidable losses/missed gains within reason

An for a year I can't get them off I have my ID in my hand an I just want to transfer them back to coinbase and it has been every run around in the world.

What happens is you can sign up with ok coin. With no level of verification an it even says that you can trade up to $500 per day an you can do all this just as I did a year ago by just signing up . 
An they say all they want from you is your basic info name dob phone # address etc... So once you do that and you fund your wallet as I did by transferring coins from coinbase.  Well I wanted to move a few coins around basically just trade or exchange a few. 
So all the sudden you can't do that yiu can't trade trade a $1.00 unless you complete level 2 verification now. 
An it wasn't that big of a deal. But it was the straight up lies that really bothered me
An then it started an now right now after 1 year or so I still haven't been able to transfer a coin off of ok coin or sell it to my bank link that I have linked . 
Now today 04/17/2022 they want me to complete a Skype verification live video to get through some other clearance to transfer my coins back to where I transfered them to them a year ago. 
AND REMEMBER THIS IS WHAT THEY DO

My first introduction to OKcoin was watching an Alt Coin Daily video on Youtube.  I decided to try OKcoin and was offered $20 of Bitcoin if I deposited $100 into my account.  I did this and did not receive my promised BTC.  I emailed numerous times and OKcoin representatives confirmed that I was eligible for the offer, but just gave me empty promises that it had been forwarded to the technical team.  I moved my BTC off the exchange.  I do use them to purchase UST and it has gone smoothly, but I don't like that they hold your money or tokens for 10 days before you can withdraw them.  Also, I think their UST price is a little high compared to other exchanges.  In short, they are an average exchange and I use them because they do have native Terra.

I invested 200 dollars 6 months ago. I have tried to check on the funds which had been staked but NOTHING shows up on my profile, not even the transaction history even though I have the bank receipt. I wish Okcoin would explain why a picture of my personal wallet is required for verification. This request has actually nothing to do with verifying someone, so why ask for this? I would love to hear just one good reason for this without having receive a standard answer. No other exchange has ever asked me for a picture of my wallet. Why? Just one plausible reason for wanting this is all I want to hear. This was going too far. I was able to get my funds out, finally, and closed my account. I was a registered user.

I verified my identity and did everything they asked when it came to KYC compliance. After all that, I received an email less than a month before taxes are due that says they need more info. Ok, fine. It caused me to stop my taxes from being submitted. Annoying, but I get that this space is on the edge of regulation in the US. So I go to complete what they asked and there is nothing else I can complete. I have already done everything they have asked so I assume it is a mass email and ignore it. NOPE. The next email I get says my account withdrawal is suspended and I can’t get any of my money back. I raise several tickets with their terrible support staff and still nothing has come of it. They keep giving me the same instructions that tells me I have done everything right already. No one will fix the problem and no one will give me a straight answer. Absolutely a garbage exchange.

Overall it's good platform. One problem i faced is not execution of orders on time in spot trade. Sometimes prices are above order prive and still order is pending. This needs to be addressed.

OKCoin is great for a newb who uses their brain. Make/Take fees are very low - 0.1% / 0.2% (which is not the lowest, but it is very low). Lots of trade types available. Lots of different crypto available for sale (more than the big US exchanges have available).

The cons?
- In the U.S. the web site is a little bit on the slow side.
- No crypto-to-crypto conversion like you find in Coinbase (and in Coinbase the conversion is free)

So: I have no COMPLAINTS per se, but I do wish they had the free instant crypto conversion that you find in Coinbase.

Why bother

This exchange is a scam, stay away! I made several thousands of dollars in deposits on this exchange with confirmation emails confirming successful deposit "to be invested immediately." I confirmed surplus funds in my Bank of America acct, and confirmed with a banker that the money was withdrawn to completion and sent to OKCoin. A few days later OKCoin sent me a threatening email demanding $4000+ dollars be wired immediately or they will liquidate my assets! They then froze my account with no explanation, and proceeded to sell all my assets. I immediately jumped through every hoop put in front of me for the "risk team" to review my case and bank statements. I had contacted my bank immediately, setup an appointment with a banker who then printed and scanned my complete statement with all February transactions and half of January. I had to provide a printed PDF Bank statement since OKCoin refused to accept online banking screenshots despite asking for screenshots.They refused to give due process, a mailing address for my bank to send the statements, fax, refused phone support, and refused to speak with my bank to validate. I talked to about 30 chat bots telling me contradictory stories, despite printed bank statement on official letterhead, scanned, and converted to PDFs, as requested. I immediately provided proof of sufficient funds and payment receipts. At first I thought  maybe it was something on my banks end but it was not, and the bank offered to call 3 way and provided ample proof to Okcoin that the money had been transferred to completion. They rejected this and redirected me all over the place with no clear answers. Customer support emailed confirmation of the available deposit to invest, apologized to me for the confusion, and told me my account restrictions lifted so  I could resume trading-- which was all untrue as my account remained frozen w/ ALL CASH MISSING.Now I've paid more money just to hire an attorney and all I wanted was a refund and assets back that I paid for! I already emailed shield@okcoin a dozen times, and already did everything that this reply below suggests, in addition to everything I was told to do by an agent. Believe me, I have the funds and can prove the money was withdrawn on my bank statement, and with every other   exchange that week there were no issues. They told me I just needed to provide a bank statement on official letterhead proving that the deposit was sent and completed, and provided phone contact info and offered 3 way with the bank, as recommended by my banker, but they did not even bother to do any of this and still have all withdrawals blocked. BBB submitted and they ignored attempts from BBB to reach (notice the F rating and 1 star reviews of similar stories), FTC reporting will be next along with the SEC and class action lawsuit.
