Had an issue where I had to reset 2FA due to changing phone and number. Coinjar support assisted promptly a efficiently. Been a user for over 4 years and they haven't missed a beat.

2FA reset troubles

I transferred an amount of XRP over from Coinjar into a Lobstr wallet. It appears that there was an error made in the transaction process (from my end) and the transfer never took place, and it seemed as if I had lost the XRP in the "ether".
The Engineering Team and two Coinjar staff worked on the issue and were finally able to retrieve the XLM and return it to my Coinjar account.

Coinjar has their moments, but then again, all sites do. And whilst support isn't always on 24-7, their recent addition of weekend support has convinced me that they listen to their customers and when a pending ERC-20 transaction, was broadcasted late with an exorbitant fee, they corrected the issue post haste when my displeasure was registered.

Overall, CoinJar has become my #1 application for Cryptocurrency Purchases and is by far the cheapest I have come across yet. With as little as 0.2% fee on my most recent conversion and a massive savings compared to Binance or Coinbase, I'll stay loyal to these dudes.

P.s. you can delay Bitcoin Transactions for a cheaper fee, that's chill af

The CoinJar Security Team Banned me out of the blue and when I contacted them, they gave me the following reason - "Our Security Team have recently brought to our attention that it looks like one or more of your transactions involved a digital currency address, that we consider unsuitable and do not support". I filled in all the details on the form they sent me and they still left me banned and couldn't tell me which address was the problem so I still don't know what I did wrong. Reading all the other reviews and complaints about them now it makes sense to AVOID COINJAR altogether!

On the 10th April @1.56pm i purchased 1 hand-burger, 1 cheeseburger and 1 large sprite from McDonalds the total amount was $10.65 USD which i paid using Apple-pay with my Coinjar MasterCard.. 

Amount on my McDonald receipt was $10.65, amount on my apple-pay transaction was $10.65 yet amount charged on my Coinjar MasterCard was $35.18 USD. 
I paid in USDT and the rate = 1 USDT = $1.340 AUD

I WAS OVERCHARGED $24.53 USD FOR A $10.65 MCDONALD's MEAL.... I have contacted Coinjar now every day since this has happened and they have responded once in 4 days with no information, no refund nothing...

OVERCHARGED ME $25USD FOR A $10 MCDONALDS MEAL USING THERE MASTERCARD

I've tried Binance, Coinbase and several others. So, I found Coinjar and decided to do a Money IN - Money OUT test. I signed up with Coinjar with no problems at all. I sent money from my UK bank account, it was there in minutes. I bought BTC, let it hang for a week or so. In the meantime, I ordered a Coinjar Debitcard, which arrived in a couple of days. I used the card to pay for an Indian takeaway and a bottle of wine using BTC, no problems. I later moved the BTC to my cash account and then moved it back to my UK bank account. All in all? 100% success. I'd like to see a few more coins, a slicker website interface....but that sums it up. Great experience! :)

Biggest scammers ever. I am now being told I cannot verify my account because I am a US citizen. I need UK or Aus verification. Why did CoinJar not require citizenship when my Australian sponsor created my account??!!! Their responses are cryptic..obscure..and automated. $5000 of Funds in account is zero and we are told that the money was transfered out immediately after deposited... we have no idea how. There is no way to hold them accountable. So you will lose your money regardless of reporting them.

Let's back up for a minute. After several emails with Coinjar from April 23 to present, the following continues to be my issue which has never been 
resolved.

I  CANNOT AUTHENTICATE MY ACCOUNT. Therefore I cannot review statements or validate anything you are now stating.
My sponsor gave me this account as a gift in Jan 2018. 

 I never even looked at the account until my sponsor contacted me advising on the exploding bitcoin investment.

I have two simply questions;

1) How was my sponsor able to create my account when I never met your citizenship participation requirements? I AM A US CITIZEN.

2) If my account was never authenticated how could I have performed any of these transactions?

Finally I asked my sponsor to act on my behalf since the funds came from him. I just found out that the information listed here in your very detailed email about my account also applies in almost exact details to his account. He is both a UK & AUS citizen

Coinjar asked my sponsor to ask me to open another ticket on Feb 28th, 22 ( Once Again, I have no access to my account) The ticket number is listed for your reference regarding that communication.#280202

I want to see proof of your sponsorship intake process. You cannot just " believe/thought" that I was an Australia citizen if you have a correlating mandatory requirement for verification!
Now after the fact, I obviously wasn't eligible to participate in this program due to Australian regulations. You are grossly inept! This is your error not my sponsor. At the very least you should return my account funds to him. If you did not ask for proof of citizenship during intake, you cannot ask it for authentication!

The only probability that someone had/has access to my account would be my sponsor since he created both accounts. He now finds that both accounts are in similar status. Mine zero, his with minimal funds.

Losing almost $10,000 and any interest we could have accrued from 2017 to present is a horrid mess.  Your support of the issue is only to protect Coinjair, not your clients. I am now quite aware that I am wasting my time here. Never again with Coinjar you seem to have no fiduciary duty to protect your clients funds/interest.

I am based I the UK and made an external (Polygon Mattic) transfer from CoinJar to my cold storage wallet more than 12 hours ago and the transaction is still showing in pending.

I am getting very concerned as this is a large amount of money for me and no body from The service team is responding to me. Unlike other  Fulton exhanges, the don’t give you an option to cancel the transaction, therefore I’m stuck no knowing what to do.

In Australia Tech Supp. don't answer the phone. TERRIBLE system!!!... Before, Coin Jar said that I was in Switzerland when I live in Australia. I've sent MANY complaints, then that was fixed and I have it in my desktop computer that works OK, but to transfer to bank account requires my mobile, which is asking me again to place my password (which is correct) + all my details when I am the same person. Still is invalid, it asked me AGAIN to take a picture of myself with GOOD light on my Drivers License + Passport (same as my desktop) and the camera is blinking non-stop (my mobile + browser are OK), there is no QR barcode for quick pairing/sync available. It sends me an SMS about my desktop computer but does not recognise my mobile. I have $800 inside Coin Jar to link to a local bank account as a test to transfer more BT into this acc. However, I found 1000 issues. The CJ website is different from mobile. Please, I need someone to contact me ASAP because >>>I have an urgent situation<<< and I need to transfer BT to bank account. At first it worked. Then I could put  money in minus the 1% charge but couldn't take it back out. Got a few emails back. Then once I mentioned about losing money they didn't reply back. At least coin base replys  even if remarkably slowly.

Update: Ironically within 30mins of my review being posted I receive email support unlocking my accounts!

I have been using Coinjar on at least a weekly basis for the last 4 years and until recently have been happy with the service.  Unfortunately all that has changed.  It seems impossible to get support help other than an automatic email back saving they have received my request.  Ironically my account has been frozen now after letting me deposit and purchased consistently using a DCA strategy that I manage myself.  Coinjar would even let me swap and purchase within the app ALL at a 1% fee without letting me use accumulated CJ points but as soon as I went to pull my Crypto off the exchange all my transactions have been frozen... even transferring between accounts with other CJ members

I really would love to rate the app big for simplicity of use and for clarity but i must say i am highly dissapointed by the support team of COINJAR, the platform was recommended to me and i decided to take a look, created a profile and did all the verification process required, deposit went smooth but then trying to send btc to another wallet of mine became an issue, reached out to the support team as instructed and it took hours for them to get back to me, they requested additional documents and pictures, some of which was borderline infringing on my privacy yet i provided everything they ask but till now i srill cant send btc from my account which makes me think COINJAR just wants my funds on its platform and does not want me to be able to send out btc.
It is so annoying and at this point if i could rate the app below zero i would. its being 5 days now and yet the issue has not been resolved, that is despite providing every document and information asked of me, i was hoping i would introduce the platform to other people but at this point it does not make sense to do so...Honestly i am holding back talking about the horror i have been put through in the last 5 days or so...COINJAR better get its act together.

Coinjar will not let me withdraw my funds. BEWARE of Counjar.  Their software just throws errors.  When you try to reach their support, they do nothing to help you.  Beware.

Since posting Coinjar have been in touch but are still will not allow me to withdraw my funds quoting that my "account" is not verified.  In spite of them happily receiving funds FROM the same account on 3 occaisions.  Coinjar is a scam. Do not put your money here!

Used Coinjar for around 12 months. I buy BTC and send to my external wallet. Everything fine until this month. Sent a deposit (in the same way as before, same source, my wages). The deposit normally clears on Coinjar in under an hour. However nearly 3 days later nothing. Checked my bank, everything fine their end.

Coinjar support advised that due to a ‘security’ issue, I’m unable to send and receive digital currency. I can still deposit/buy/sell on their platform but I can’t send or receive? I need to fill in this form requesting personal information such as my employer, job title, source of income, wage slip etc. 

I completed the form however another day later, still no remedy. Then the support summary was ‘after review we are unable to remove the send/receive of digital currency but you can still deposit/buy/sell. Disappointed as given no route out of the restriction i.e. a way of proving to the ‘security’ team I am legitimate.

Good despite latest experience initially perplexing

Here is the list of issues I have experienced:

1. The mobile app takes about 20 seconds to load.
2. if you press MANAGE CARD - the app crashes.
3. Once I received my card, I could not find where the PIN was, so I had to "reset" to a new PIN.
4. I funded and activated my card, but when I try to withdraw cash from an ATM - I get an "invalid card" error.
5. Even though my account is funded - I still keep receiving an irritating message (both on the web page and mobile app) that I should now "fund" my account.
6. If I try and buy at a merchant - I get an "invalid card" error.
7. I opened a ticket - and have been ignored for almost a week now.
8. I even added useful comments and images to the ticket - but I was still ignored.
9. I have now opened a second ticket - let's see what happens.

------ UPDATE--------

To Coinjar. You now have about 20 open tickets against my account. You also sent me a note saying my debit card is "inactive". This is absolute BS - since your own system says that my account is active. I even sent you an image from my account to show this.

I have had enough and I tried to withdraw my tokens to another exchange. Surprise surprise - your system will not allow me to send my own tokens to another exchange! Clowns all of you.

Downloaded and installed the new mobile version.
On one part of the screen it says that my portfolio balance is $ XXX and on another part of the screen it says my portfolio balance is $ YYY. Totally amazing. Even sent a screen shot to Coinjar - and no reply on this serious error.

Used the mobile MANAGE CARD feature, and it says that my card is "active". Tried using my card at a merchant and at an ATM,  but still get the error of INVALID CARD NUMBER. 

What an amazing service these guys provide !!!!!!!!

App crashes, card not working, no suport

Really liked this exchange, always preferred it over other exchanges but now I am having problems I have realised how bad this exchange is! I am locked out of my account, as my phone number has changed, I have sent 3 request to remove the enhanced security, I have sent 3 seperate emails, I have provided all the information to prove my identity and have still had no response after 3days of trying. I day trade for a living and all of my money is locked in this account and I am loosing out on money because no one from this exchange can reply and fix this issue! The customer service is terrible! Will never use this exchange again after this experience!

They take the time to reply to your reviews and make out like they are doing something to solve the problem but are not replying to your actual support. This is getting ridiculous how long it is taking to solve a simple problem when I have provided all the required information. As they are not replying to my actually messages I must write on this review that if this is not solved within the next 24hrs I will be taking legal action to retrieve my funds!

Hi - how do I transfer my crypto money to my cash account so I can withdraw? I get the message ''There is insufficient available balance". I have over £200 in my portfolio.

"When making a new Instant Buy purchase with a debit or credit card, that amount is automatically added to your reserved balance. Funds within your reserved balance can be used to trade digital currencies within CoinJar immediately but cannot be sent out of CoinJar for up to fourteen days. Once the reserved balance period has ended, your funds can then be sent to an external digital currency address or withdrawn to a linked bank account.'

Transfering my crypto to my UK bank account

Yes I would like to up grade my rating from 1 star to 4 star as the problem was solved by using Pay ID instead of depositing via debit master card in which the funds are not released for seven days to send to external wallets. I still think that they could improve their format regarding this deposit procedure.

This is my first time using coinjar's prepaid Mastercard and by using this card I lost my 2000 AUD when I tried to cash out my crypto from CommBank's ATM which actually declined my transaction.

The funny thing is their card's daily withdrawal limit is 1000 AUD however coinjar approved the withdrawal of 2000 AUD and deducted crypto from my coinjar account, but the ATM refused the withdrawal saying that my daily withdrawal limit is exceeded.

I have lodged a complaint regarding this bug and now waiting to hear what coinjar says. If they supported me and helped me out fixing this problem and getting my money back, I will update this review.

UPDATE (05/Nov/2021 11:28AM) : No response has been taken on the support ticket # 265630 yet which shows that their support is less active answering and replying to support tickets but more active on responding reviews on trustpilot.

coinjar's prepaid mastercard has a flaw

I opened an account on 25 October and deposited some money into the account and bought some crypto with no hassle. As I believed everything was ok I deposited some more money on the 28 October by faster payments. Since then the money has been in pending transactions. I have raised a ticket and sent an email both of which have gone unanswered which is in common with the last few reviews. There is no reason this money should be held up as it immediately left my bank account. Customer service appears to be non existent with no contact and their replies to other complaints on trustpilot smack of arrogance. Am I just to assume I have lost this money and put it down to a costly bad experience! or can the situation be retrieved. If you want to invest in crypto find another company. My account name is nicholson10.

Deposit pending for days and very very slow or no response from customer support.. still unable to have the money deposited in my coinjar or better still the money should be refunded to my bank account because to me it’s inadmissible to use a service that can’t suit your needs if they aren’t fast in responding or taking care or their clients needs !!! What is the point of making a deposit if you can’t trade immediately or use it as intended when coins are fluctuating in an instance ? This services to me have to be imminent!

They will not let you withdraw your currency from their account for 7 days BUT you can convert your currency to different ones while you wait patiently for a week to pass.. each transaction charged with an INSANE 1% transaction fee!

This is onviously made for them to highly profit off us, their customers. Do not let them do it.

Very useful app. easy to buy and sell multiple currencies, not complicated and very user friendly. A bit slow to load. Love the bundles and recurring buy option
