AMEX steht sich selbst in Weg - Kundenservice unfähig und unzuverlässig

AMEX hat mein SEPA Mandat aus unerfindlichen Gründen gelöscht. Auf Nachfrage wurde mir mitgeteilt ich solle per Überweisung zahlen, was ich vor Fälligkeit der Rechnung auch Tat. DANN initiierte AMEX eine Abbuchung, die jedoch nicht ausgeführt wurde da im System keine Bankverbindung hinterlegt war (Sepa war ja gelöscht). Das Konto wäre gedeckt gewesen. Am Ende kam raus, dass ich nicht der einzige Kunde dessen Sepa Mandat aus unerfindlichen Gründen gelöscht wurde. Aus der Hotline kommt viel Gerede, aber keine Hilfe. Zugesagte Rückrufe erfolgen nicht, Zusagen werden nicht eingehalten. Schlussendlich ist die Karte dicht und der Algorithmus hat meinen Rahmen reduziert aufgrund einer mutmaßlichen Zahlungsstörung-die jedoch nie vorlag. Es ist beschämend.

Erg blij met mijn platinum kaart

Erg blij met mijn platinum kaart. Kan me niet vinden in negatieve reviews over de klantenservice. Ik heb dit jaar twee keer contact gehad met de klantenservice voor iets. Beide keren snel en professioneel geholpen.

Absolutely dreadful

Absolutely dreadful. Signed up for a new card, already had a direct debit set up to take the monthly balance automatically to protect my credit score. New card for some reason didn't take from the direct debit, Amex admitted fault and refunded me overage charges/interest (which I have in writing) however they still reported it to credit referencing agencies. My score went from 997 Excellent all the way down 150 points to Fair, trashing my hard earned score. Have called the credit team twice, promised callbacks twice with a fix and still nothing and it's been over a month (was told 10 days). Followed up, empty promise of callback. Really bad, will go to ombudsman if not resolved. The whole 'Amex protects you' is a joke.

Amex Germany

Amex Germany, one of the worst out there. Don't register to them as they claim they sent me the card. The only way to contact them is via a phone call, which again is only available in German. On finally getting a translator, the agent cut the call on us. Utterly disappointed and would never use it again

Perks down, price up.

The perks and benefits have subsequently gotten worse for platinum customers. Who needs 2% back for shopping at a specific retailer when other cards give you more much more and you can just shop anywhere. The flight credits only cover baggage and other fees which people rarely insure when buying main cabin, premium or business class tickets. If you need help its always a long wait even for platinum card holders. But they will eagerly talk to you if you want to cancel or downgrade. ALL OF THIS and they raised the card fee by $150. They boast about a streaming credit which covers two of the most popular services. All in all, I will probably downgrade or pick another travel card with Chase.

Life too short to contact Amex by phone

This review comes after attempting to contact their business travel by phone about an accommodation booking. After nearly 1 hour on hold, being played the most dreadful audio pap, I hung up and took matters into my own hands. We will not be using this service in future, it seems like just another rouse to collect a fee. Card is not as welcome as they'd have you believe either. Annual fees a waste of money. Time to say goodbye Amex - wish we'd done it sooner.

We decided to take travel insurance out…

We decided to take travel insurance out on a planned vacation and went through American Express. We unfortunately had to cancel due to a sudden illness. We filed a claim only to find horrible customer service, long delays and loopholes that they used to avoid paying on claims. Do your research before buying, otherwise like us you will lose a lot of hard-earned money to an unethical company that shouldn't be allowed to sell travel insurance.
